lyrics

Burning Karthago

All I see are fires
Burning bright under a blood red sky
All hope seems lost
In these bitter days
waves and waves of barbarians smashing
against thy walls, oh Karthago
How long can we stand these attacks
Of this neverending flood of foes

Wounded, dying, dead ones lying beneath the feet of the living
Shattered brains, rivers of blood and bowels,
burned and crippled limbs
Oceans of fallen mercenaries

Boiling oil floating over cloth
Burning holes into the flesh
Liquid lead running over helms
Rain of sparks spit into their faces
Man after man set in flames
Look into their empty eyeshells
as their bodies fall

See the gates splinter
Watch the walls crumble
Bodies are rotting
Down in the sun
On the walls
In theese old streets
Way too long
This siege lasts

There is still a sacrifice
to be made to turn this fight
it is time to end this war
by passing the children through the fire
